So here it is my first blog post. This is going to be a bit of a learning curve so bare with me.
On 9th September 2017 we were honored to create Sara and Kevin's wedding flowers. They had an unusual theme, which was wonderful to discuss through ideas and flower types and then to bring the ideas to life.
They got married at St Peter's Church in March and had their reception in the lovely grounds of their garden.
The theme was Jamaican/Tropical, so we used Strelitzia 'Birds of Paradise' as the main focal flower and lot's of tropical style leaves and foliage, including Palm Leaves, Cordyline, Croton Leaves and much more.
The Brides bouquet was an unusual shape to go with the unusual flowers. The bouquet was an asymmetrical handtied, tied with bright orange satin ribbon.
The flowers were:
-Strelitzia
-Leucospermum
-Cerise Dendrobium Orchid
-Orange Calla Lily
-Green Hypericum Berry
-Lots of Foliage
The Bride had one Bridesmaid and one Flower Girl. The Bridesmaid had a beautiful wrist Corsage on a pearl bracelet with Dendrobium Orchid and ivory Spray Roses with a bright orange satin bow. The Flower Girl had a basket decorated in orange and lilac satin ribbon with artificial ivory Rose petals.
The Grooms party Buttonhole were ivory Calla Lily's with the Grooms having a little bit extra colour with some orange Crocosmia.
Also had extra ivory Rose buttonholes and ivory Spray Rose Corsages (on magnets) for the men and women attending the wedding at the church.
At the church we made Pew Ends with 1 Strelitzia and exotic leaves tied with orange and lilac satin ribbon.
At the reception they had a marque in their garden where there wasn't your usual top table. Altogether five round tables with beautiful Chiavari Chairs around the tables.
The lovely people at Beetroot Dining (caterers) dressed the tables with beautiful glassware and cutlery, ready for when they serve their Chefs wonderful food.
The cake was a semi naked cake made by Hannah Caller and we arranged some small clusters of flowers (orange Calla Lilys, Dendrobium Orchids and spray Roses) for Hannah to put onto the cake.
For the tables ourselves and Sara discussed having tall arrangements, so we went for the 60cm Martini Vases and mirror plates with LED lights in the vase. On top of the case we made large beautiful arrangements of mainly exotic foliage and leaves and some Strelitzia, green Hypericum Berry and orange Crocosmia to add a little colour.
We set up the tables with the mirror plates, lights, vases and flowers to create a elegant exotic feel to Sara and Kevin's wedding reception.
